Father's Day Weekend

Last weekend we went up north again for Father's Day. When we go up north we usually leave around Porter and Campbell's bedtime so they'll sleep on the drive. This time we left in the afternoon. We hoped for the best but prepared for the worst. To our surprise they actually both did okay. Porter had a little melt down but I think that was because he was hungry. I'm sure I'm going to regret saying this but everyday seems to get a little easier with the kids.

(Like I said they were hungry)

We got to the lake a little past 5 pm. We hung out with the family, had dinner and by 8 pm the boys were ready for bed. The next day the weather was a little cool so we went on the boat for a little bit and Josh and boys went swimming after lunch.

The rest of the day we hung out around the cabin. The boys were exhausted and Porter is transitioning out of naps so by the time bedtime came he went down pretty easy.

Sunday was gorgeous so we spent most of the day by the pool because my kids love the water. You wouldn't think so if you have been following this blog and the nightmare we went through with Porter and swimming lessons.

After lunch Josh took Porter fishing while Campbell was napping and ended up catching a ton of fish. They both were really excited.

The rest of day we spent on the boat and that's where things got interesting. Like I said before Porter doesn't nap on the weekends and so by the time we got on the boat he was going down hill fast.

In the almost for years he's been in this world I can count on one hand how many times he's passed out from exhaustion. This might be the third time.

Once he woke up he wasn't the most pleasant person to be around so we knew it was time to bath them, pack up and head for home.

But nothing that a little Fireman Sam can't fix.

All in all it was a great weekend! Happy Father's Day!
