It was a really nice out this weekend in Minnesota so we actually got to go outside. Porter is OBSESSED with hockey. If he could he would play 24 hours a day. Can't say I'm really excited to be a hockey mom, and i'm still hoping he'll grow out of it. But everyone keeps telling me that if he's this interested now at his age its only going to grow stronger (yeah me). We live on a pond and every year our neighbors help clear it off and make a mini hockey rink.
We tried getting Campbell on the sled but he wasn't a huge fan.
Later that night Josh and I went out to dinner at Freehouse. The atmosphere is really cool. For some reason we've been on this micro something kick. Freehouse brews their own beer. I'm not a huge beer drinker but Josh had a few and said they were good. I had a drink called the Strawberry Tart and it was delicious.
We also figured out that six years ago to the day we got engaged.
Courtesy of my husband, isn't he so cute?
Josh heard of a brewery that he really wanted to try in Northeast so we checked it out (for a person who doesn't like beer you'd sure think otherwise). It's called Sociable Cider Werks. They specialize in cider beer (obviously). The place reminded me something out of Duck Dynasty. I've never seen so many long beards in one place at one time. I also felt like I was back home in North Dakota and drinking in someone's shed (oh the good old days).
I even wore heels. I never wear heels!
Sunday we tried the swimming thing again with Porter and again it was a bust (for the most part). But the good news is he threw up before he got in (and on Josh) so they didn't have to clean out the pool this time. He did have a one-on-one session and did a little better. So it wasn't a complete disaster. A woman told us it took her daughter two years before she stopped crying. I don't think I could make it two years. We were very proud of Porter though. He only cry for about half of the session and I think by the end he was having fun (but I don't want to jinx it). Hopefully next week will be even better.
Oh and Campbell is such a ham these days. I love the age he is at. He's just so funny.
But then again so it Porter. I just love these two!
