Playroom Door Dilemma

Before Campbell was born we wanted to have a space for the boys to tear around and store their bazillion toys (I'm serious when I say we have more toys then Toy R' Us and probably Target combined). I bought every toy you could possibly imagine at different stages in Porter's life hoping he'd find something that would spark his interest (or at least hold it for more than five seconds). Well folks hockey is the only thing that does that and now I'm left with a houseful of toys with no one play with them. (Campbell isn't interested either because he wants to do whatever his big brother is doing). Some of the toys haven't even been opened. So getting back to my story. We turned an unfinished bonus room into a playroom. It had a fire proof door leading into it which was super ugly so that also got changed out. The hard part was deciding on what type of door we wanted. The reason why it was even a discussion was because this door is very visible in our house. Josh and I went back and forth on either a barn door or a door with glass. I wanted the barn door, he wanted the glass door. He liked the idea of glass so you could see inside the room and the kids without hearing them. I agreed so we went with it. It didn't come painted but we thought we'd have plenty of time to do it when I was on maturity leave. Well of course that didn't happen and I'd been staring at this unfinished, ugly door for the past year and a half. It drove me crazy! So I finally decided it was time to tackle it and I'm so glad I did. My mother helped me prep and paint. She's the best! Would I have liked the barn door as much? Probably. But I'm happy with how this one turned out.

We ended up using the paint we used to paint the fireplace.

Voilà! Now I somehow have to keep the playroom clean. Yeah right!
